Jury Duty & Voting Leave

JURY DUTY

NKCH allows you to take time off for jury duty when summoned by the court. When jury duties calls take the following steps.

  1. Submit a copy of the summons to your supervisor as soon as you receive it
  2. To be paid, access the staffing software program for your department
  3. Communicate with your director to determine the process of returning to work if released early by the court from jury duty

VOTING

  1. It is your responsibility to make arrangements to vote prior to or following your scheduled work hours. Polling times are typically 6 AM – 7 PM in Missouri and 7 AM to 7 PM in Kansas
  2. If you are unable to make arrangement to vote prior to or following your work hours, you should contact your supervisor in advance to arrange a mutually agreeable time for you to vote
  3. Missouri State law provides up to three hours of paid tie off to vote. The statute also states that the time-off-to-vote plans must be made in advance of Election Day and the time off must be used to vote. To be paid for voting access the appropriate staffing software for your department
